This delayed opening for a bit. That was good, because out New Mexico State remote observer was a NO-SHOW tonight. I tried to call all contact numbers listed in the proposal, and I tried calling the PI without luck. I tried offering the time to another NM observer without success. I was informed of a possible 4th of July party going on where some of the grad students might have been. I tried that number without success. In the end I was about to start engineering work when we realized that Peregrine McGhee is on the books as a NM program and was on site early for his run tomorrow. He was given all DIS time tonight and successfully used most of it with good seeing. We were able to open at 22:30 MDT and after some focus and pointing corrections, all ran smoothly. We ended a little early due to Peregrine's targets setting. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:50 DIS Slit 190(1085) 96 69 14.7/15.1 42 8 - 1.0" 23:07 NA2 Gdr -820(53181) 99 72 14.7/15.1 15 15 R 0.9" --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 18:01 54 43 10 10 (N) 2452 cloudy rain 19:01 48 47 14 220 (SW) 1482 cloudy rain 20:01 53 39 8 81 (E) 603 cloudy rain 21:01 57 37 18 48 (NE) 410 cloudy none 22:01 57 36 8 6 (N) 711 cloudy none 23:01 61 32 8 3 (N) 1537 ptly cldy none 00:01 60 32 11 354 (N) 1463 clear none 01:01 60 32 8 339 (NNW) 1538 clear none 02:01 58 32 5 273 (W) 1312 clear none 03:01 56 36 8 185 (S) 1240 clear none 04:01 53 37 5 179 (S) 1046 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
