It was a simple change, and it also allowed UC to get sky flats. I opened the dome to begin cooling at 19:00 until UW showed up for cals at 19:40 MDT when we closed again. I opened again after they finished cals at 20:30 MDT and all systems started up without issue. It turns out that the UC Macintosh was failing again, so the observer had the UW observer run his program for him. It still was moved to the end of the night. I informed the UC observer to talk to someone at UC to get this handled so there are no more future problems like this that could waste valuable observing time. We switched at 03:45 MDT. No trouble encountered for the rest of the morning. We had amazingly stable seeing of 0.9" all night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:57 DIS-Slit 175(1382) 144 43 18.2/20.2 209 14 - 1.31 21:07 NA2 Gdr 882(54883) 148 39 17.9/19.9 221 10 R 1.08 22:15 DIS-Slit 80(1181) 169 46 17.5/18.2 188 12 - 0.88 22:17 NA2 Gdr 1722(55721) 170 47 17.6/18.2 199 12 R 0.94 03:55 SPIcam 140(1247) -2 58 16.3/16.4 181 16 r' 0.86 04:04 NA2 Gdr 1610(62611) -3 58 16.1/16.4 189 15 R 1.01 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 18:01 71 34 14 265 (W) 669 clear none 19:01 68 34 12 255 (WSW) 653 clear none 20:01 64 35 13 224 (SW) 722 clear none 21:01 63 35 12 204 (SSW) 924 clear none 22:01 63 33 12 196 (SSW) 925 clear none 23:01 63 34 13 197 (SSW) 1044 clear none 00:01 63 34 13 193 (SSW) 1032 clear none 01:01 62 33 13 189 (S) 1064 clear none 02:01 62 32 16 205 (SSW) 896 clear none 03:01 62 32 18 183 (S) 899 clear none 04:01 61 34 12 192 (SSW) 1105 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
