It looked as if it were going to clear up around 22:30, but the clouds had other plans as a system to our W moved in. Again, things looked promising around 01:30 as the clouds started to leave, but the dust levels went over the closure limits, preventing opening. By 02:00 the dust had dropped but now the clouds moved back in, pretty much killing any chance of observing with GrIm. Around 03:30 the clouds finally parted way and the dust levels stayed down. I started cooling around 03:40 and opened at 03:50 to get ready for the last program of the evening (my 2nd observer gave up earlier due to the weather). 2237 was observed for the last program under clear skies but seeing that started out around 1 arc sec and deteriorated to around 2 arc sec by the end of the run. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 04:20 SPIcam -140(962) 151 57 16.4/16.3 338 4 r' 1.08 04:24 NA2gdr 1145(62145) 152 58 16.2/16.3 346 5 R 1.07 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 79 35 12 256 (WSW) 1643 Cloudy none 17:01 68 31 9 92 (E) 1729 Cloudy none 18:01 70 32 8 54 (NE) 1736 Cloudy none 19:01 66 32 27 289 (WNW) 27430 Cloudy none 20:01 61 37 11 334 (NNW) 4710 Cloudy none 21:01 64 33 10 34 (NE) 2618 Cloudy none 22:01 62 35 21 54 (NE) 1571 Cloudy none 23:01 65 30 18 63 (ENE) 1365 Cloudy none 00:01 65 28 16 74 (ENE) 1567 Cloudy none 01:01 58 37 24 70 (ENE) 2874 Pt.
