That all changed at about 21:00 when the rain sensor alarm tripped unexpectedly. We opened again as the sky cleared toward 21:30. Skies cleared progressively until around 01:00 when cirrus began rolling in from the southwest. The cirrus was supplanted by thicker, spotty clouds around 02:30. After finishing his exposure and taking some calibrations, George decided to give up for the night. Between that time and the start of Lens observations, I took an Echelle spectrum of a long period variable I'm following. Scattered clouds in the south and east prevented running the Lens program as scheduled. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:44 Echelle 150(402) 251 49 18.8/18.6 10 8 clear 1.17 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 71 39 4 337 (NNW) 1472 MstlyCldy none 17:01 72 39 15 142 (SE) 1149 MstlyCldy none 18:01 68 37 11 82 (E) 1027 MstlyCldy none 19:01 67 37 17 120 (ESE) 868 MstlyCldy none 20:01 64 38 18 73 (ENE) 775 MstlyCldy none 21:01 64 36 15 63 (ENE) 899 MstlyCldy none 22:01 66 31 9 33 (NNE) 819 PtlyCldy none 23:01 67 34 7 258 (WSW) 1501 MstlyClr none 00:01 65 35 7 188 (S) 1354 MstlyClr none 01:01 65 36 7 179 (S) 1351 MstlyClr none 02:01 64 35 7 177 (S) 1210 PtlyCldy none 03:01 62 34 8 201 (SSW) 988 PtlyCldy none 04:01 59 35 11 220 (SW) 772 PtlyCldy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
