Scattered storms over the mountains earlier in the afternoon seemed to have fallen apart and the sky was gradually clearing toward sunset. Skies continued to clear toward the middle of first half and remained clear for the rest of the night. Dust counts edged up along the limits all night long but were not high enough to cause me to close. Other than having problems getting the Echelle autoguider to guide on 15th magnitude supernovae, all went without a hitch tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:53 Echelle 75(253) 120 57 15.8/16.6 101 13 clear 1.75 22:45 Echelle 100(174) 188 59 14.5/14.9 120 18 clear 1.46 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 76 41 9 245 (WSW) 1135 PtlyCldy none 17:01 70 40 1 192 (SSW) 1105 PtlyCldy none 18:01 69 42 7 119 (ESE) 1329 PtlyCldy none 19:01 66 43 16 125 (SE) 1538 PtlyCldy none 20:01 61 47 17 110 (ESE) 1983 MstlyClr none 21:01 60 47 14 79 (ENE) 2087 Clear none 22:01 59 47 14 103 (ESE) 2225 Clear none 23:01 58 46 15 111 (ESE) 2402 Clear none 00:01 58 46 20 130 (SE) 2778 Clear none 01:01 58 45 18 149 (SSE) 2919 Clear none 02:01 57 45 18 145 (SE) 3307 Clear none 03:01 59 44 14 185 (S) 2846 Clear none 04:01 59 45 9 181 (S) 2422 Clear none 05:01 59 45 9 183 (S) 2338 Clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
