Dembicky I started cooling the enclosure around 18:45 and let the observer start their cals at 20:00. We opened the enclosure at 21:10. We tweaked focus during the course of the first half and were sub arc sec for a little while, as things came into equilibrium. The guide camera failed around 23:55. I had to reboot the ICC and that seemed to make it happy again. It had some problem writing to a file (e-mail sent to Craig Loomis). The first half observer finished a few minutes after 1:00 and Don was ready to go with his spiffy new Mac for the 2nd half. Don had a couple crashes on his end and switched back down to Remark V2.80b from 2.82. He thought he might have some idea what was the cause of the crashes, but wasn't sure. Things seemed to work smoother for him after that but I am not sure where the problem was. He thought it may have had something to do with the readout function of Remark but wasn't sure. A nice night with excellent seeing in the 2nd half as well. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:22 DISslit -150(1078) 264 42 19.1/23.1 258 8 none 1.33 21:35 NA2gdr 3989(57989) 264 42 18.9/22.7 225 14 clear 1.44 01:18 Echelle 80(458) 181 33 18.9/19.5 295 9 ND2 1.34 03:50 Echelle 70(249) 2 73 18.4/18.3 318 10 ND2 0.71 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 18:01 77 27 12 295 (WNW) 505 Clear none 19:01 76 25 5 262 (W) 437 Clear none 20:01 70 19 7 268 (W) 696 Clear none 21:01 66 15 6 214 (SW) 804 Clear none 22:01 68 18 10 251 (WSW) 729 Clear none 23:01 68 17 10 248 (WSW) 663 Clear none 00:01 68 17 9 268 (W) 481 Clear none 01:01 67 16 11 310 (NW) 503 Clear none 02:01 66 15 9 310 (NW) 420 Clear none 03:01 65 15 8 324 (NW) 513 Clear none 04:01 65 14 9 332 (NNW) 512 Clear none 05:01 65 14 7 305 (NW) 438 Clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
