The sky was clear and training went quickly. They got many good spectra and seeing was decent for part and really bad for part. We also help identify the funny noise in the Cryotiger rack and it seemed to be associated with the cryo-hoses on the top of the rack, so I do not think it is a bearing, just very odd sound. Second half started with high dust counts and clear skies and the continuing bad seeing. In addition, GRIM started acting up right away and all quads died in readout. It took 6 restarts of the inst power supplies, but we eventually got it back online with minimal time lost. Also, the GRIM ICC died once and needed restart. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UC03 G I/H 01:10 01:21 Restart GRIM -- dead quad readout ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:04 DIS-II 160(1398) 171 44 19.9/21.2 180 12 - 0.92 21:11 NA2 Gdr 2594(56502) 173 44 19.9/20.9 190 14 - 0.99 01:22 GRIM II 125(1159) 49 48 15.7/16.9 112 8 f/5-H 2.21 03:31 GRIM II 220(1213) 35 67 17.4/17.2 317 7 f/5-H 0.94 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 75 25 16 267 (W) 775 clear none 17:01 75 24 13 265 (W) 750 clear none 18:01 72 21 14 272 (W) 706 clear none 19:01 75 22 9 255 (WSW) 712 clear none 20:01 69 17 5 209 (SSW) 843 clear none 21:01 66 17 11 178 (S) 872 clear none 22:01 67 17 12 178 (S) 809 clear none 23:01 66 19 13 154 (SSE) 967 clear none 00:01 64 25 16 171 (S) 1943 clear none 01:01 59 33 1 117 (ESE) 1820 clear none 02:01 65 23 0 63 (ENE) 1485 clear none 03:01 65 17 7 290 (WNW) 1269 clear none 04:01 64 16 5 6 (N) 1121 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
