The skies were clear and weather very nice. All systems started up without problems and things ran smoothly. Dust levels rose steadily. I pushed the limit some hoping that they would drop, but eventually, even with reversing the fans and such, the levels rose so high I had to close. They remained there and we were unable to re-open. The observer decided that the remaining time left was not enough to use when we got within an hour of twilight and we shut down. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:35 GrIm f/10 50( 868) 75 69 12.0/13.6 253 16 J 0.89 21:32 GrIm f/10 180(1026) -81 47 11.9/12.1 280 22 J 0.79 21:37 NA2 Gdr -1122(58877) -81 47 11.9/12.2 278 14 R 1.01 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 68 -3 15 229 (SW) 1508 clear none 17:01 59 -8 18 267 (W) 1663 clear none 18:01 59 -9 15 244 (WSW) 1505 clear none 19:01 58 -11 9 227 (SW) 1579 clear none 20:01 52 -16 15 251 (WSW) 2052 clear none 21:01 54 -13 17 266 (W) 2200 clear none 22:01 53 -13 16 263 (W) 2564 clear none 23:01 52 -14 14 268 (W) 2759 clear none 00:01 52 -12 13 260 (W) 2933 clear none 01:01 50 -12 11 282 (WNW) 3694 clear none 02:01 49 -12 15 265 (W) 4118 clear none 03:01 48 -11 10 279 (W) 4234 clear none 04:01 47 -7 13 271 (W) 3856 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
