The observer was able to get some twilight flats, and we did manage to focus once it was dark enough, but no science was possible so I closed the dome. I re-opened for a clear patch at 22:50 and the observer got real data for a while under conditions of very good seeing (0.8" on the guider), before clouds returned again. After the program change, the clouds remained too thick to allow IR observing for a while, but I opened at 03:30 when it began to look possible. The seeing was also very good on GRIM (undersampled at f/5). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:17 SPIcam 0(923) -21 65 11.4/12.6 193 6 R 0.95 03:44 GrIm2(f/5) 150(885) 154 59 11.2/10.9 221 11 H 0.88 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 62 18 16 236 (SW) 1104 mstly cldy none 17:01 64 17 11 261 (W) 1113 mstly cldy none 18:01 61 15 16 211 (SSW) 1307 mstly cldy none 19:01 56 10 14 211 (SSW) 1449 mstly cldy none 20:01 53 9 5 236 (SW) 1844 mstly cldy none 21:01 53 8 5 236 (SW) 2099 mstly cldy none 22:01 53 8 7 193 (SSW) 2271 ptly cldy none 23:01 53 8 9 238 (WSW) 1628 mstly cldy none 00:01 53 8 6 212 (SSW) 1483 mstly cldy none 01:01 54 8 9 228 (SW) 1428 mstly cldy none 02:01 54 8 8 208 (SSW) 1315 mstly cldy none 03:01 53 8 9 222 (SW) 1479 ptly cldy none 04:01 53 9 14 209 (SSW) 1470 ptly cldy none 05:01 51 7 13 191 (S) 1568 mstly clr none 06:01 50 5 14 201 (SSW) 1574 mstly clr none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
