We started observing under mostly clear skies with only a guess at the focus. After 23:30, the wind shifted to the southeast, with the usual concomitant rise in dust and humidity. When it appeared to be a long-term trend, the dome was closed due to dust. The dust began to drop after the program change, and we re-opened to discover that the seeing was as poor as expected. The night remained clear and photometric until dawn. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:50 Echelle -2(-163) 235 58 9.9/11.1 144 19 Clear 1.57 03:18 Echelle 183(71) 179 36 11.1/10.7 179 23 ND2 1.47 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 60 25 12 274 (W) 462 mstly clr none 17:01 60 27 11 267 (W) 392 mstly clr none 18:01 61 26 13 214 (SW) 491 mstly clr none 19:01 59 25 8 238 (WSW) 547 mstly clr none 20:01 54 25 4 240 (WSW) 845 mstly clr none 21:01 54 26 7 184 (S) 731 mstly clr none 22:01 55 20 7 178 (S) 528 mstly clr none 23:01 54 24 6 171 (S) 576 clear none 00:01 51 34 11 130 (SE) 3803 clear none 01:01 50 36 20 145 (SE) 3248 clear none 02:01 50 36 16 143 (SE) 2520 clear none 03:01 51 34 21 174 (S) 1972 clear none 04:01 50 35 22 211 (SSW) 1435 clear none 05:01 50 29 22 231 (SW) 1328 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
