When the dust dropped, we opened to clear skies and terrible seeing, which unfortunately did not improve as the telescope equilibrated. Switching to the IR for second half did help the seeing somewhat, but compared to GRIM's usual standard it was still rather poor. Everything worked smoothly -- not so much as a peep from the GRIM Mac. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:29 DISslit -400(161) 224 80 5.1/7.7 302 23 - 1.73 23:33 NA2gdr -4926(52073) 228 79 5.0/7.4 288 19 R 1.42 01:13 GrIm2(f/5) 25(480) 144 56 3.6/4.5 283 16 H 1.18 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 54 8 28 217 (SW) 2010 mstly clr none 17:01 56 9 22 270 (W) 1815 clear none 18:01 54 10 34 267 (W) 3041 clear none 19:01 50 5 29 259 (W) 4605 clear none 20:01 47 2 25 269 (W) 3609 clear none 21:01 45 0 25 284 (WNW) 4124 clear dust 22:01 43 -1 16 269 (W) 5291 clear none 23:01 42 0 20 277 (W) 3032 clear none 00:01 40 0 15 290 (WNW) 1846 clear none 01:01 39 1 21 289 (WNW) 1454 clear none 02:01 38 2 21 316 (NW) 1513 clear none 03:01 36 4 18 327 (NNW) 1324 clear none 04:01 34 6 14 334 (NNW) 1493 clear none 05:01 34 9 7 332 (NNW) 1596 clear none 06:01 35 10 15 19 (NNE) 1505 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
