There was a 1-2 acre forest fire west/northwest of APO and was quickly under attack by our local National Forest crews. Air slurry bombers and ground crews quickly had it contained and by sunset it was not considered a threat in any way. Dust remained high and clouds thick. We never opened, even had a few small sprinkles of rain. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half had high dust, high humidity, lightning nearby, high winds, and a variety of precipitation from more to less frozen. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST/FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O/TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 51 19 19 214 (SW) 743 cloudy none 17:01 49 21 17 252 (WSW) 1889 cloudy none 18:01 48 23 14 259 (W) 3186 cloudy rain 19:01 44 28 10 263 (W) 5962 cloudy none 20:01 45 26 6 257 (WSW) 5965 cloudy none 21:01 44 28 20 250 (WSW) 4027 cloudy snow? 22:01 44 26 11 227 (SW) 2598 cloudy snow 23:01 44 24 20 238 (WSW) 2294 cloudy snow 00:01 42 24 19 286 (WNW) 2456 mstly cldy none 01:01 38 25 3 264 (W) 1573 mstly cldy none 03:01 38 25 8 269 (W) 1573 cloudy snow 04:01 35 26 14 278 (W) 2622 cloudy sleet 05:01 30 28 17 273 (W) 5129 cloudy snow 06:01 28 27 15 245 (WSW) 993 cloudy none? note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
