Although there was considerable dust floating down in the basin, it wasn't climbing the mountain quite as efficiently as last night, and we managed to stay open for observations. Seeing was moderate at the first focus and subarcsecond on the next two focus checks; the NA2 guider was not running, so there was no continuous seeing report. The echelle observer had several bewildering problems at first that may have been a problem with his Mac or with Remark or TCC. We tried three possible fixes simultaneously; they worked, but left it unclear which of the fixes was successful. Later the remote Mac crashed a couple of times. We managed to maintain guiding and echelle exposures through most of this, with only a little lost observing time. Observations went quite smoothly second half, with only a brief difficulty when the TCC had trouble deciding which direction to go to reach a star very close to the limit. The star transited two minutes later, making the TCC happy on the next slew attempt. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- NM06 E I/S 21:04 21:17 shift+click moving the wrong way (upset Mac?
