Skies were clear part of the time, with a few banks of passing cirrus which grew thicker toward dawn. The seeing was rather poor (1.5") until the telescope finished cooling; after that it ranged from 0.7" to 1.2". We had a few minor difficulties; one readout problem with the red chip that fortunately affected only an unused part of the image, and a tendency for the red spectra to be slightly out of focus compared to the blue (or the slitviewer). We should have a chance to address these issues next week. Neither of these problems cost any time, and the observer got some interesting spectra. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:13 DISslit -125(610) 172 56 8.1/10.7 178 10 - 1.11 20:16 NA2gdr -2888(54111) 173 56 7.6/10.6 177 10 R 1.22 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 60 13 13 275 (W) 237 ptly cldy none 17:01 57 9 5 262 (W) 251 ptly cldy none 18:01 55 5 8 268 (W) 271 cirrus none 19:01 52 6 4 271 (W) 514 cirrus none 20:01 47 0 10 178 (S) 569 clear none 21:01 44 -2 13 153 (SSE) 632 clear none 22:01 46 0 12 168 (SSE) 605 clear none 23:01 47 0 11 179 (S) 676 clear none 00:01 47 0 13 180 (S) 534 cirrus none 01:01 47 0 10 201 (SSW) 117 mstly clr none 02:01 47 -1 8 239 (WSW) 277 mstly clr none 03:01 47 1 8 201 (SSW) 417 cirrus none 04:01 47 1 8 260 (W) 673 cirrus none 05:01 48 1 7 250 (WSW) 728 ptly cldy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
