Skies were clear all the way round, winds moderate and dust low. Trained Steph on the usage of Remark and the SPICam interface, then we began taking twilight flats. She and Brian observed up until shortly after midnight, then ceded the remainder of their time to Bhasker and Jon when it was clear they couldn't squeeze in another round of imaging before their time ran out. After a quick switch to DIS we were back on the sky. Things were good up until about 02:00 when the seeing took a dive right as the Sloanies went down to swap cartridges. Around 04:00 cirrus began to move in from the south, coming and going until twilight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST/FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O/TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:07 SPIcam 20(812) 232 43 8.2/8.5 254 16 i' 1.02 21:11 NA2gdr -1556(59443)233 42 8.4/8.5 257 14 R 1.04 23:22 SPIcam 100(814) 161 55 7.1/7.5 267 16 i' 1.21 01:07 DISslit 0(513) 247 73 6.2/6.8 262 16 - 1.2 01:41 NA2gdr -3021(53978)167 59 5.6/6.2 262 17 clear 1.77 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 54 23 21 244 (WSW) 930 Clear none 17:01 50 22 16 255 (WSW) 1000 Clear none 18:01 52 21 15 235 (SW) 1075 Clear none 19:01 50 21 21 258 (WSW) 984 Clear none 20:01 47 21 18 247 (WSW) 908 Clear none 21:01 47 21 14 258 (WSW) 1015 Clear none 22:01 47 20 11 251 (WSW) 801 Clear none 23:01 46 21 18 264 (W) 905 Clear none 00:01 45 20 18 260 (W) 837 Clear none 01:01 43 22 16 258 (WSW) 949 Clear none 02:01 41 24 17 249 (WSW) 954 Clear none 03:01 41 25 15 235 (SW) 955 Clear none 04:01 40 26 12 277 (W) 861 PtlyCldy none 05:01 39 28 10 250 (WSW) 965 PtlyCldy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
