The clouds remained thick with no obvious hope in the near future, so I closed again at 20:25 MDT until conditions improved. They did somewhat, and at 22:15 I opened again under moderate cirrus. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: Russet McMillan Second half had decreasing high clouds and moderate to good seeing (subarcsecond some of the time, but we were doing many observations at high airmass). Everything went smoothly. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:25 SPIcam 0(874) 106 69 10.9/11.9 261 12 Halpha 0.82 22:45 NA2 Gdr -281(60719) 106 69 10.8/11.6 267 13 R 0.72 23:41 SPIcam 175(1025) 127 78 10.5/11.4 269 11 Halpha 0.78 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 59 22 21 232 (SW) 1208 cloudy none 17:01 56 21 12 270 (W) 1361 cloudy none 18:01 56 21 13 241 (WSW) 1357 cloudy none 19:01 55 21 13 265 (W) 1536 cloudy none 20:01 53 20 11 254 (WSW) 924 cloudy none 21:01 53 20 15 235 (SW) 1080 cloudy none 22:01 52 20 11 260 (W) 1201 cloudy none 23:01 52 18 13 264 (W) 935 ptly cldy none 00:01 52 16 14 272 (W) 906 ptly cldy none 01:01 52 16 13 292 (WNW) 817 mstly clr none 02:01 52 16 16 280 (W) 841 ptly cldy none 03:01 50 16 17 290 (WNW) 846 mstly clr none 04:01 49 14 18 308 (NW) 791 mstly clr none 05:01 48 15 7 331 (NNW) 863 mstly clr none 06:01 47 14 7 328 (NNW) 1017 mstly clr none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
