Hastings Clouds moved in thick enough that we stayed closed near twilight. The GFP was mounted and up and running without any troubles though. We waited for clouds to clear... Eventually we opened which allowed us to get some images, but nothing usable for science. All systems running well except the weather. 1st Half Observing Specialist: Russet McMillan The dome was closed around 23:30, but no useful on-sky data were obtained for some time before that. The telescope temperatures were flatlined from a galileo reboot earlier in the evening, but the chances that we would get to observer were low enough that I thought it could wait to be fixed. Sure enough, it remained cloudy until the beginning of twilight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:14 GFP -50(789) 275 53 6.2/8.0 185 9 6766 0.74 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 44 -7 5 307 (NW) 130 cloudy none 17:01 42 -8 0 246 (WSW) 183 cloudy none 18:01 40 -10 4 263 (W) 166 cloudy none 19:01 41 -11 4 262 (W) 315 cloudy none 20:01 40 -11 7 191 (S) 452 cloudy none 21:01 39 -13 10 216 (SW) 441 cloudy none 22:01 39 -10 5 217 (SW) 383 cloudy none 23:01 41 -8 10 189 (S) 314 cloudy none 00:01 40 -6 12 198 (SSW) 286 cloudy none 01:01 40 -5 11 229 (SW) 281 cloudy none 02:01 40 -5 11 246 (WSW) 276 cloudy none 03:01 40 -8 16 234 (SW) 337 cloudy none 04:01 38 -5 12 241 (WSW) 332 cloudy none 05:01 38 -4 14 236 (SW) 350 cloudy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
