There were still dense, fast moving clouds to the west and dust over the limit. We remained closed as clouds thickened, covered us and then lightning to the east was observed. What seems like the summer thunderstorm pattern has arrived already looking at the satellite image. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: Russet McMillan A light mix of rain and snow began to fall at 01:00, not accumulating until after 03:00 (not the typical summer thunderstorm pattern). I ran the heaters and the snow program for a while. At 04:30, the Sunspot fire department had a false alarm concerning a fire here, but there was no alarm or other trouble on-site. The snow stopped around 05:00. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 49 19 12 271 (W) 1470 cloudy none 17:01 46 18 13 270 (W) 1612 ptly cldy none 18:01 41 8 9 271 (W) 2900 cloudy none 19:01 39 6 14 290 (WNW) 1138 cloudy none 20:01 38 9 13 290 (WNW) 931 cloudy none 21:01 38 9 6 274 (W) 955 cloudy none 22:01 36 14 7 263 (W) 912 cloudy none 23:01 36 14 7 264 (W) 1077 cloudy none 00:01 34 17 4 244 (WSW) 1049 cloudy none 01:01 34 19 4 319 (NW) 684 cloudy snow+rain 02:01 33 18 10 53 (NE) 778 cloudy snow+rain 03:01 35 16 18 32 (NNE) 694 cloudy snow 04:01 30 30 24 107 (ESE) 760 cloudy snow 05:01 30 29 15 16 (NNE) 55 cloudy snow 06:01 34 26 6 13 (NNE) 675 cloudy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
