I finally opened the enclosure (under partly cloudy skies) around 23:30. At 23:45 when I went to slew the telescope I found that the AZ enclosure motors would not operate. The motor breakers tripped on the intermediate level and just needed to be reset. No real time loss since it was still fairly cloudy when I discovered the problem. It may have been due to my having the motors on (axis stopped, or I may not have did an axis init when I turned the motors on. The observers wanted the drive motors on for checking for vibration in the FTS, but I didn't have the telescope tracking). The breaker on the large box on the intermediate level just needed to be reset and all was well. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UW08/O T/H 23:45 23:50 Az enclosure motors stopped.
