I put off the parts of checkout that would interfere with their work until they were clear and ready to hand over the telescope. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan The dust remained very high during second half, and we never opened. We continued to pursue a number of DIS issues including noise, slitviewer focus, and instrument characterization, but it would have been possible to go on the sky at any time if the weather had improved. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 46 12 32 249 (WSW) 2948 clear dust 17:01 45 12 33 255 (WSW) 3674 clear dust 18:01 42 9 33 264 (W) 5479 clear dust 19:01 41 9 30 257 (WSW) 2836 clear dust 20:01 40 11 32 254 (WSW) 1583 clear dust 21:01 38 11 20 254 (WSW) 3362 clear dust 22:01 35 11 25 266 (W) 3028 clear dust 23:01 34 9 21 261 (W) 3987 clear dust 00:01 33 8 19 268 (W) 4217 clear dust 01:01 31 6 24 280 (W) 4593 clear dust 02:01 30 5 26 267 (W) 4244 clear dust 03:01 28 4 18 289 (WNW) 4558 clear dust 04:01 28 9 21 280 (W) 3402 clear dust 05:01 26 8 19 289 (WNW) 4975 clear dust note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
