We did not open. At one point I opened the dome just to get a dust reading with the meter in the 3.5m (which is not reported on the web page) and it read over 4k while the MET tower meter read 2k. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: Jack Dembicky Dust levels finally stabalized to where I felt it was safe to open the enclosure around 00:55. Intermittent clouds and fluctuating dust counts delayed us until I felt that the dust counts were stable, or headed downward, until 01:35. We had rather poor seeing after about 3:30 and clouds interfered with observations (couldn't reliably guide) after 04:30. Don did manage to grab some morning twilight flats. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:35 GFP 0(632) 204 65 4.1/4.1 235 17 4353 1.1 01:40 NA2gdr 382(64382) 204 65 4.1/4.1 235 17 R 1.3 02:53 GFP 100(726) 157 66 3.9/4.0 259 18 4353 1.7 02:56 NA2gdr 202(64202) 157 66 3.9/4.0 259 18 R 1.8 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 49 21 11 241 (WSW) 2254 cloudy dusty 17:01 46 20 10 216 (SW) 2196 cloudy dusty 18:01 41 21 12 208 (SSW) 2025 cloudy dusty 19:01 41 22 16 216 (SW) 2208 cloudy dusty 20:01 41 23 13 227 (SW) 2174 cloudy dusty 21:01 40 21 12 208 (SSW) 2198 cloudy dusty 22:01 40 21 11 224 (SW) 2240 cloudy dusty 23:01 39 20 14 219 (SW) 1956 Pt.
