I cleaned the guider optics. The sky was cloudy and the winds moderate. I opened the dome to begin cooling at 17:30 MST and all tests went smoothly. The first half observer started cals and clouds began to clear near sunset. Observing went smoothly, no problems and good seeing. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half had persistent cirrus, thin enough that we stayed open but thick enough to make science difficult. The wind was rather high, getting up to the limit with one gust and then dropping again. Everything worked well. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:41 Grim (f/20) 200(560) 219 71 2.4/2.9 241 17 1.083 0.71 00:15 SPIcam 100(514) 202 56 1.0/0.9 258 21 r' 1.23 00:17 NA2gdr -977(60022) 203 56 0.9/0.9 269 28 R 1.26 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 39 5 13 234 (SW) 1708 cloudy none 17:01 36 6 14 226 (SW) 1889 cirrus none 18:01 36 3 18 232 (SW) 1763 cirrus none 19:01 36 2 16 231 (SW) 1815 clear none 20:01 37 1 14 257 (WSW) 1540 clear none 21:01 37 0 23 263 (W) 1264 clear none 22:01 35 0 22 256 (WSW) 933 cirrus none 23:01 35 2 22 259 (W) 754 clear none 00:01 34 2 23 260 (W) 733 cirrus none 01:01 34 0 22 271 (W) 619 cirrus none 02:01 33 -1 17 262 (W) 614 cirrus none 03:01 32 3 23 265 (W) 690 cirrus none 04:01 31 5 25 265 (W) 711 clear none 05:01 30 5 23 254 (WSW) 565 clear none 06:01 30 10 19 270 (W) 736 mstly clr none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
