The first half observers started their dark frames around 15:30 and we opened the enclosure for further cooling around 18:15 under cirrus skies. The clouds thickened too much by 20:00 to get anything useful. I left the telescope open so that Nancy could at least show her students how to use GrIm, but nothing useful for science was obtained. We re-opened around 04:05 under still cirrus skies but a clearing moving in from the W. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:48 GrIm-f/20 0(648) 73 17 7.9/9.5 231 18 1.58 0.85 04:13 DISslit 30(537) 105 59 5.4/5.4 268 15 none 1.37 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 51 0 12 266 (W) 57 Cirrus none 17:01 50 5 12 268 (W) 83 Cirrus none 18:01 45 7 23 237 (WSW) 68 Cirrus none 19:01 46 5 18 241 (WSW) 127 Cirrus none 20:01 45 6 15 249 (WSW) 221 Cirrus none 21:01 46 5 13 263 (W) 205 Clouds none 22:01 45 5 17 236 (SW) 210 Clouds none 23:01 43 8 20 205 (SSW) 307 Clouds none 00:01 43 7 15 222 (SW) 271 Clouds none 01:01 41 7 21 211 (SSW) 356 Clouds none 02:01 41 5 18 240 (WSW) 380 Clouds none 03:01 43 -1 16 236 (SW) 314 Clouds none 04:01 43 -5 11 269 (W) 320 Cirrus none 05:01 42 -6 12 278 (W) 357 Mst.
