By 18:30 the winds had picked up to force us to close before we could get the telescope focused. The winds calmed down below closure limits and we re-opened around 19:15 to try again. It was still windy but the wind gusts had been below closure for about 20 mins now so I decided to re-open and give it a go. The winds remained gusty for the first half and slowly died down during the 2nd half of the night. Everything ran smooth. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:28 Echelle 210(-258) -38 69 4.8/4.2 21 30 ND2 1.34 00:14 DISslit 190(647) 244 70 5.0/5.0 25 16 none 1.06 00:19 NA2gdr 2932(59932) 246 69 4.9/5.0 20 18 R 1.03 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 36 5 1 354 (N) 349 Clear none 17:01 38 3 24 18 (NNE) 191 Clear none 18:01 39 5 25 30 (NNE) 109 Lt.
