No problems with setup. The DD program was able to run as the clouds disappeared near the end of twilight. The UW program started a few minutes early and switchover went smoothly. Clouds remained, fast moving but allowing most science. They continued to get thicker and we were forced to close at 21:25 MST. We were able to open again when clouds suddenly dispersed. They returned again, but remained thin enough to continue observing. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:24 Echelle 289(-181) 250 56 2.5/3.3 224 16 ND2 1.08 20:36 SPIcam 100 (566) 15 66 1.9/2.1 258 15 r' 1.32 20:44 NA2 Gdr -291(60706) 14 67 1.8/2.1 271 17 R 1.27 01:28 SPIcam 100 (570) 174 59 1.5/1.7 304 17 r' 0.93 01:32 NA2 Gdr 501(61500) 174 59 1.5/1.8 313 16 R 0.98 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 41 16 12 260 (W) 543 cloudy none 17:01 39 15 10 261 (W) 541 cloudy none 18:01 36 14 12 228 (SW) 597 mstly clr none 19:01 36 14 12 194 (SSW) 741 mstly clr none 20:01 36 12 15 236 (SW) 608 mstly clr none 21:01 37 4 24 269 (W) 479 mstly clr none 22:01 37 2 21 289 (WNW) 613 cloudy none 23:01 37 2 14 272 (W) 438 cloudy none 00:01 36 2 12 277 (W) 378 cloudy none 01:01 36 3 16 295 (WNW) 282 cloudy none 02:01 34 5 17 307 (NW) 290 clear none 03:01 34 4 15 6 (N) 341 clear none 04:01 34 9 15 344 (NNW) 385 cirrus none 05:01 33 12 11 33 (NNE) 460 cirrus none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
