Dembicky Enclosure fans were turned on around 16:30. Poor seeing >3 arc sec due to a large temp differential between the dome and outside air and NO wind hampered us getting the telescope focused until around 19:00. Shortly after we finally got on the sky, the 1st half observer lost their remark connection to APO. After a few minutes they were re-connected and everything ran smoothly afterwards. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: Noel Camron Hastings Second half started with decent seeing and clear skies. All was running smoothly and continued to do so. We focused and corrected pointing and then the CU program ran all night. There was one glitch when their Remark died, but restarted quickly and all was well. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:07 DISslit -180(218) 13 69 0.9/3.5 283 5 none 0.91 19:10 NA2gdr 868(57868) 12 69 0.8/3.4 278 5 R 0.92 20:29 DISslit -30(293) 70 70 2.2/2.0 296 7 none 1.16 20:34 NA2gdr -2870(54129) 70 72 2.2/1.8 268 7 R 1.31 00:14 DIS Slit 40(362) 79 43 -0.6/-0.1 294 3 none 0.95 00:19 NA2 Gdr 500(57499) 81 47 -0.8/-0.4 260 4 clear 1.21 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 38 5 6 263 (W) 370 Clear none 17:01 36 3 4 239 (WSW) 402 Clear none 18:01 32 0 0 86 (E) 423 Clear none 19:01 34 -5 4 299 (WNW) 225 Clear none 20:01 35 -7 3 320 (NW) 167 Clear none 21:01 35 -9 5 260 (W) 110 Clear none 22:01 35 -10 3 259 (W) 109 Clear none 23:01 33 -6 4 263 (W) 105 Clear none 00:01 32 -4 2 257 (WSW) 197 lt cirrus none 01:01 31 -2 2 263 (W) 486 lt cirrus none 02:01 30 1 6 268 (W) 614 Clear none 03:01 30 0 2 258 (WSW) 494 Clear none 04:01 26 6 0 208 (SSW) 1085 Clear none 05:01 26 5 2 285 (WNW) 1168 cirrus none 06:01 25 6 1 324 (NW) 1124 cirrus none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
