I opened the enclosure at 17:50 when my observers finished their cals and had them focused and on the sky by around 18:10. We switched over to SPIcam at 21:20. Second Half Observing Specialist: J.Barentine Second half was generally calm with clear skies and good conditions. Around 02:15 the seeing abruptly blew up from about 1 arcsecond to near 5 arcseconds. This corresponded to a shift of the wind to due north. In an hour that cleared up and the rest of the half was quiet. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:55 DISslit -70(91) 137 75 -3.3/-1.7 32 12 none 1.43 18:03 NA2gdr 4572(57572) 140 76 -3.4/-1.9 337 9 R 1.19 19:46 DISslit -160(16) 235 43 -3.6/-3.9 8 3 none 1.08 19:54 NA2gdr -1500(51500) 235 42 -3.8/-3.7 343 14 none 1.40 21:32 SPIcam -50(319) 211 53 -3.3/-4.1 21 19 i' 0.91 23:58 Echelle 0(-707) 191 78 -3.6/-4.2 346 15 clear 1.07 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 29 20 7 348 (NNW) 230 Clear none 17:01 27 20 7 5 (N) 198 Clear none 18:01 26 19 5 15 (NNE) 177 Clear none 19:01 25 18 19 4 (N) 140 Clear none 20:01 26 14 19 17 (NNE) 94 Clear none 21:01 26 8 24 32 (NNE) 53 Clear none 22:01 26 8 15 0 (N) 50 Clear none 23:01 26 7 13 348 (NNW) 43 Clear none 00:01 26 7 8 3 (N) 46 Clear none 01:01 26 -5 12 359 (N) 35 Clear none 02:01 27 -4 21 24 (NNE) 27 Clear none 03:01 33 -11 21 10 (N) 26 Clear none 04:01 30 -13 13 5 (N) 40 Clear none 05:01 32 -11 18 11 (N) 36 Clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
