A wind closure limit of 10MPH was instated late in the afternoon out of concern for blowing snow and ice falling into the enclosure. Wind never dropped below the threshold for the remainder of first half. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: J.Dembicky The wind never dropped below the 10MPH closure limit so we remained closed. I turned the roof heaters on at 5:30 to help rid us of ice during the day. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 20 3 10 354 (N) 77 MstlyClr none 17:01 19 3 8 2 (N) 98 Clear none 18:01 19 4 17 22 (NNE) 76 Clear none 19:01 20 4 4 5 (N) 86 Clear none 20:01 20 4 5 349 (NNW) 83 Clear none 21:01 21 2 15 351 (N) 70 Clear none 22:01 21 2 15 11 (N) 85 Clear none 23:01 21 -1 16 359 (N) 68 Clear none 00:01 20 4 14 344 (NNW) 80 Clear none 02:01 21 0 19 300 (WNW) 66 Clear none 03:01 23 -5 15 315 (NW) 65 Clear none 04:01 24 -5 19 302 (WNW) 66 Clear none 05:01 24 -6 14 298 (WNW) 76 Clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
