Seeing degraded as the evening progressed but was still moderate. Skies started out cloudy but cleared shortly after dark. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half was clear until some cirrus showed up after 04:00, with mediocre seeing when we first focused but measurements as low as 0.6 arcsec later on. The observers are planning to disassemble MWIR AOTF tomorrow and try to correct its very low sensitivity; for tonight they elected to use GRIM instead. Everything went smoothly, and the planetary pointing difficulties of the last few nights were cleared up. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:04 SPIcam -120(603) 176 58 1.9/2.6 5 22 i' 0.77 18:08 NA2gdr -2638(58361) 178 58 2.1/2.6 20 22 R 0.84 20:37 SPIcam 10(729) 211 54 3.5/2.4 24 22 i' 1.04 23:01 SPIcam 100(833) 111 58 3.3/2.8 19 19 i' 1.4 00:30 GrIm2(f/10) 100(568) 188 78 2.9/3.1 5 14 1.58 1.17 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 37 10 19 349 (NNW) 1016 Clear None 17:01 39 2 24 11 (N) 1364 Mstly Cldy None 18:01 35 8 23 358 (N) 1777 Mstly Cldy None 19:01 35 14 19 15 (NNE) 885 Clear None 20:01 38 7 16 8 (N) 1025 Clear None 21:01 39 9 18 31 (NNE) 558 Clear None 22:01 39 11 24 31 (NNE) 551 Clear None 23:01 38 14 19 7 (N) 703 Clear None 00:01 40 9 21 6 (N) 426 clear none 01:01 37 20 10 16 (NNE) 895 clear none 02:01 38 19 19 12 (NNE) 1138 clear none 03:01 39 20 9 357 (N) 1075 clear none 04:01 39 18 18 357 (N) 1244 clear none 05:01 38 18 12 337 (NNW) 1410 clear none 06:01 38 17 18 349 (NNW) 1401 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
