Humidity was too high at twilight so I did not start the cooling fans/open louvers. Humidity remained high all through the first half. I had some difficulty calibrating the wavelength centers of DIS. The configuration seemed to fluctuate back and forth on each side of the desired location. Finally after changing the gratings file several times the determined location agreed reasonably with the actual location of a line. This was seen with both gratings in bay 2 (RM+BL). 2nd Half Observing Specialist: W.Ketzeback Humidity still was too high to open by the start of second half. Conditions finally improved to where I could open up and start the fans at 0230. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 02:41 DIS-slit -200(333.68) 194 59 6.2/6.0 348 6.6 - 1.02 02:55 NA2guider 168.5(54997) 200 51 6.3/6.3 337 10.5 R 0.86 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 45 44 0 43 (NE) 215 Ptly Cldy None 17:01 46 41 5 347 (NNW) 173 Ptly Cldy None 18:01 45 40 8 11 (N) 226 Clear None 19:01 44 41 10 15 (NNE) 200 Clear None 20:01 44 40 7 354 (N) 213 Clear None 21:01 44 39 4 357 (N) 162 Clear None 22:01 43 39 3 345 (NNW) 178 Clear None 23:01 44 40 9 349 (NNW) 229 Clear None 00:01 43 40 6 291 (WNW) 223 Clear None 01:01 43 40 7 344 (NNW) 292 Clear None 02:01 44 38 6 345 (NNW) 242 Clear None 03:01 44 36 9 340 (NNW) 241 Clear None 04:01 44 35 5 355 (N) 266 Clear None 05:01 46 35 1 344 (NNW) 282 Clear None 06:01 46 35 9 356 (N) 243 Clear None 07:01 46 35 5 1 (N) 241 Clear None note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
