I emailed the PI and phoned the only contact number in the proposal, but couldn't reach her in person. So I offered the time to another observer who happened to be on-site and changed instruments from the originally requested GRIM to DIS. I had some trouble mounting DIS, and when it was finally ready, I received an email from the PI apologizing that the observer she had arranged for didn't show up. She approved the donation of time to the on-site observer, so we went ahead with DIS observations. I also got some Shack-Hartmann observations, for the third night in a row. 2nd half Observing Specialist: W. Ketzeback The second half went smoothly. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:46 DISslit -50(454) -71 49 5.9/6.1 277 14 - 1.05 20:49 NA2gdr -1144(52855) -71 49 6.1/6.0 277 9 R 1.10 01:43 DISslit 0(497) 203 56 5.0/5.0 5 12 - 1.48 01:52 NA2gdr -1404(53499) 203 56 5.0/5.0 5 12 R 1.24 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 51 21 24 272 (W) 1064 clear none 17:01 49 10 27 244 (WSW) 406 clear none 18:01 48 6 23 281 (W) 437 clear none 19:01 45 6 20 268 (W) 446 clear none 20:01 43 5 19 270 (W) 552 clear none 21:01 43 5 18 284 (WNW) 569 clear none 22:01 42 5 15 299 (WNW) 604 clear none 23:01 42 4 9 286 (WNW) 457 clear none 00:01 42 2 17 326 (NW) 331 clear none 01:01 42 3 11 340 (NNW) 371 clear none 02:01 41 5 5 349 (NNW) 357 clear none 03:01 42 6 17 317 (NW) 330 clear none 04:01 41 6 15 329 (NNW) 379 clear none 05:01 43 1 11 315 (NW) 319 clear none 06:01 43 -6 14 317 (NW) 187 clear none 07:01 43 -11 10 311 (NW) 141 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
