I held off on starting the cooling fans until the humidity dropped to an acceptable level. During instrument checkout the Drives would not work due to a drive REMAP being cancelled midway thru earlier in the afternoon. Craig quickly fixed the problem and then noticed the mirror oscillating off the Dataq. Jon Davis and Craig worked on adjusting the mirror supports for the next hour or two (there was no rush as the weather did not allow us to open). Around 23:00 it was noticed that the MC was running very slow. I restarted the MC and it seemed to fix the problem for a few minutes and then it slowed down again. A call to Craig isolated the problem to the Princeton group and most likely a new firewall that had been installed on their systems that would not let Remark call back to them. I commented out their IP address so would not lock up our MC for several minutes at a time (each time they attempted to log in). Clouds, rain, humidity, and fog kept us closed all night long. ---------------- FAILURE LOG --------------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 44 43 17 223 (SW) 146 Cloudy none 17:01 44 42 7 235 (SW) 154 Cloudy none 18:01 43 41 8 222 (SW) 142 Cloudy none 19:01 43 41 17 198 (SSW) 180 Cloudy none 20:01 44 37 21 190 (S) 166 Cloudy none 21:01 45 33 15 149 (SSE) 116 Cloudy none 22:01 43 41 16 151 (SSE) 170 Cloudy none 23:01 43 42 15 152 (SSE) 180 Cloudy rain 00:01 44 40 19 169 (SSE) 178 Cloudy none 01:01 44 40 25 196 (SSW) 122 Cloudy none 02:01 40 39 23 193 (SSW) 46 Cloudy none 03:01 42 41 12 218 (SW) 96 Cloudy fog 04:01 42 42 14 200 (SSW) 913 Cloudy fog 05:01 42 42 18 218 (SW) 1704 Cloudy fog note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
