I ran the snow program to see if I could get some of it off the roof of the enclosure but when I inspected it visually right at sunset there was alot of ice on the railings and roof. I restarted the snow program and told the first half observers we would not be opening due to ice. The roof heaters have been on all afternoon. Shortly after 20:15 the humidity spiked and I stopped the snow program as well. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Ice on the dome and continued high humidity for most of second half kept the telescope closed. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 31 31 9 326 (NW) 54 Cloudy Snow 17:01 33 28 12 265 (W) 132 Ptly Cldy None 18:01 35 22 14 264 (W) 234 Ptly Cldy None 19:01 34 28 12 256 (WSW) 353 Ptly Cldy None 20:01 34 29 13 263 (W) 356 Cloudy None 21:01 33 31 7 266 (W) 411 Clear None 22:01 34 27 10 269 (W) 446 Clear None 23:01 33 28 8 326 (NW) 303 Clear None 00:01 35 29 12 341 (NNW) 295 clear none 01:01 34 29 10 350 (N) 247 clear none 02:01 34 29 7 357 (N) 302 clear none 03:01 34 30 9 335 (NNW) 174 clear none 04:01 34 30 13 345 (NNW) 163 clear none 05:01 35 32 11 358 (N) 178 clear none 06:01 34 32 7 3 (N) 166 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
