Telescope enclosure was open and cooling for two hours before the start of the first scheduled program. Weather was clear and air temperatures warm at sunset. I mounted SPIcam as a counter weight instrument. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Everything worked perfectly second half. I was able to get lots of extra work done while the observer obtained lots of good data. Skies remained clear. Seeing appeared rather poor, but it was hard to be sure because the observer was looking at lots of stars at high airmass which were bright enough to saturate the slitviewer. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:27 Echelle 38.75(-27.66) -81 71 11.7/12.4 260 9.1 nd1 0.66 23:30 Echelle 76.22(14.61) -169 42 9.9/10.4 287 8.5 nd1 1.56 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 62 27 11 264 (W) 210 Clear None 17:01 57 23 9 245 (WSW) 199 Clear None 18:01 55 28 9 266 (W) 203 Clear None 19:01 52 28 8 265 (W) 280 Clear None 20:01 52 26 10 224 (SW) 240 Clear None 21:01 52 27 11 222 (SW) 212 Clear None 22:01 51 27 10 211 (SSW) 227 Clear None 23:01 51 25 13 211 (SSW) 170 Clear None 00:01 51 24 5 198 (SSW) 212 Clear None 01:01 50 23 8 235 (SW) 193 Clear None 02:01 50 24 8 235 (SW) 184 Clear None 03:01 50 23 8 227 (SW) 162 Clear None 04:01 50 20 11 233 (SW) 167 Clear None 05:01 50 22 9 234 (SW) 162 Clear None 06:01 49 23 9 238 (WSW) 186 Clear None note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
