Opened the enclosure at 18:10 and focused. Seeing started out around 1.2 arc sec and grew worse to over 2 arc sec until around 22:00. It then improved back to around 1 arc sec. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half had thin clouds and high winds. Seeing was generally poor, with a strong dependence on telescope pointing vs. wind direction. The gusts crept over the limit a couple of times, but weren't very consistent. We remained open until some stronger gusts came through at 04:30, and repeated gusts kept us closed for the rest of the morning. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION -------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:30 DISslit -190(-18) 190 59 -3.5/-2.5 8 20 none 1.19 18:43 NA2gdr -2028(54971) 218 53 -3.6/-2.6 30 19 clear 1.11 19:48 DISslit -100(13) 310 69 -2.8/-3.2 10 20 none 1.24 19:52 NA2gdr -1201(55798) 309 68 -2.8/-3.2 36 18 clear 1.23 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 27 16 8 336 (NNW) 60 Clear none 17:01 25 8 4 11 (N) 54 Clear none 18:01 26 -5 14 2 (N) 15 Clear none 19:01 26 4 16 11 (N) 42 Clear none 20:01 27 -1 14 2 (N) 24 Clear none 21:01 27 -5 21 6 (N) 30 Lt.
