The cloudcam is still inoperative, but Mike Carr believes he has found the leak that was troubling us for the past few months. Shortly before sunset, we received notice that a GRB had been detected with a position good to 8 arcminutes. With Don York's agreement, we switched to SPIcam instead of the echelle program and attempted to identify an optical counterpart. This time was accounted to the previously approved UC program for GRB-followups. 2nd half Observing Specialist: Jack Dembicky Clouds rolled in around 00:45 and stopped us from doing science for about an hour. The clouds once again became too thick to observer thru at 05:15 and we closed up shop then. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION -------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:16 SPIcam -50(611) 72 58 3.2/4.3 241 11 i' 0.95 23:30 Echelle -7(-475) 221 57 4.0/3.6 233 15 ND2 1.03 00:20 SPIcam 10(525) 19 72 3.8/3.6 235 19 i' 0.93 00:26 NA2gdr 2909(63909) 15 73 3.8/3.6 237 22 R 1.05 01:57 SPIcam -75(410) 44 58 3.1/2.7 268 18 i' 1.24 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 43 17 15 251 (WSW) 365 cirrus none 17:01 41 16 18 236 (SW) 330 mstly clr none 18:01 38 17 12 220 (SW) 357 mstly clr none 19:01 39 18 18 233 (SW) 424 mstly clr none 20:01 40 18 16 245 (WSW) 455 mstly clr none 21:01 40 19 14 264 (W) 439 mstly clr none 22:01 40 18 13 259 (W) 437 mstly clr none 23:01 39 18 19 246 (WSW) 388 mstly clr none 00:01 39 18 17 243 (WSW) 344 mstly clr none 01:01 39 17 15 263 (W) 334 ptly cldy none 02:01 38 17 19 261 (W) 272 ptly cldy none 03:01 37 13 18 251 (WSW) 189 ptly cldy none 04:01 37 12 17 236 (SW) 197 ptly cldy none 05:01 36 14 16 249 (WSW) 147 mstly cldy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
