Dembicky Opened the enclosure and started cooling fans at 16:40. Thin cirrus clouds started moving in around 23:00. When the 2nd half observers started the cirrus clouds and nearly full moon made the sky background extremely bright with SPIcam. The clouds continually thickened during the 2nd half. At 03:45 I recommended, if they weren't getting anything useful that we close down (I couldn't find a guidestar to lock onto for the past 30 mins). Everything ran fine with the telescope tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION -------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:13 Echelle -111(-571) -23 82 4.0/5.0 231 7 ND1 1.06 19:48 Echelle 1(-476) -65 65 4.4/3.9 246 7 ND1 1.11 00:22 SPIcam -24(412) 22 77 2.0/1.8 280 12 i' 0.79 00:30 NA2gdr -8(60991) 7 78 1.9/1.7 263 13 R 1.64 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 40 -15 5 248 (WSW) 122 Clear none 17:01 38 -16 0 256 (WSW) 100 Clear none 18:01 39 -25 5 240 (WSW) 129 Clear none 19:01 40 -25 9 221 (SW) 115 Clear none 20:01 40 -23 9 263 (W) 19 Clear none 21:01 39 -23 13 261 (W) 29 Clear none 22:01 37 -10 8 268 (W) 160 Clear none 23:01 37 -6 11 267 (W) 160 Cirrus none 00:01 36 3 12 274 (W) 263 Cirrus none 02:01 35 8 16 288 (WNW) 234 Cirrus none 03:01 35 8 10 233 (SW) 265 Cirrus none 04:01 35 11 13 260 (W) 319 Clouds none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
