The first half observer started taking their darks shortly after I opened. We focused around 17:50 and then the clouds rolled in around 18:15 and stopped us from starting on schedule. We had a slight clearing spell (not much actually) around 22:00 in which I was able to focus the telescope and turn the telescope back over to the first half observer. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: Russet McMillan After some improvement in the weather towards the end of first half, the clouds returned right around the switchover time. We were able to get DIS focused, but the clouds kept getting thicker and the telescope was closed soon afterward. No science was accomplished during second half. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION -------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:50 GrIm-f/5 -70(264) 109 58 0.3/1.9 219 20 k' 0.90 22:02 GrIm-f/5 90(461) 151 44 1.4/0.8 261 19 k' 0.95 00:25 DISslit -25(367) 170 58 1.4/1.1 223 21 - 0.90 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 38 21 16 263 (W) 328 Mst.
