All ran smooth for Adler and both Echelle programs tonight. Telescope behaved well, seeing was not too great. At 00:19:24 there was a major glitch in the autoguiding routine. Some info was spewed across the MC screen and then we made a 2,000,000 arcsec offset. Oops. We paused exposure, re-acquired and all was fine after that. Don York reported that second half the telescope was making many small movements of about 0.1 arcsec and that later many of these offsets were in one direction predominantly. Seeing improved much around 04:00 and all seemed to run smoothly. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:15 Echelle 149(???) 121 33 15.3/16.5 232 14 clear 1.53" 23:35 Echelle 165(130) 172 38 13.5/14.1 286 8 ND2 1.65" 04:45 Echelle 80(116) 99 66 12.1/12.8 274 8 ND2 0.81" --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 66 25 22 289 (WNW) 458 clear none 17:01 68 24 19 267 (W) 493 clear none 18:01 68 24 14 271 (W) 406 clear none 19:01 63 24 14 264 (W) 496 clear none 20:01 59 27 20 237 (WSW) 854 clear none 21:01 58 27 14 242 (WSW) 749 clear none 22:01 58 26 14 265 (W) 643 clear none 23:01 57 27 19 273 (W) 726 clear none 00:01 56 27 8 267 (W) 1055 clear none 01:01 56 20 7 356 (N) 835 clear none 02:01 58 18 6 303 (WNW) 768 clear none 03:01 57 18 5 265 (W) 742 clear none 04:01 55 23 6 265 (W) 774 clear none 05:01 54 26 8 278 (W) 677 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
