Dembicky I came in early (3:00PM) to meet up with John Barentine and instead found that Tycho was having problems. A call to Craig, an hour later, and a freshly re-booted Tycho and things seemed to be working again. Mounted DIS early so that the observers could take their lamps. Opened the enclosure at 19:30, focused at 19:47 and handed over to the observers at 20:00. Clouds suddenly came over at 00:30 and stopped observing until 01:40. The guider seemed to have died around 00:30, a 'gcam init' from the TCC seemed to fix the problem. A similiar problem that occured a few months ago. The guider also seemed to quit guiding on several occasions during the night, a 'guide on' fixed the problem but it was a pain loosing the guider. It gave an error message but I didn't remember to copy it. It seemed to be worse during the second half of the night than the first. I also got a couple timeout errors. PR submitted I re-homed the NA2guider wheel this morning after observations were finished. Will know tommorow if it helped with locating the filters on the NA2 guider better. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:47 DISslit -630(767) 110 62 16.4/20.8 302 6 none 1.55 19:57 NA2gdr 3350(59350) 112 64 16.3/20.5 345 2 R 1.39 21:14 DISslit -410(892) 111 52 16.0 17.7 27 9 none 1.18 21:25 NA2gdr 1501(57501) 114 54 16.1/17.6 17 13 R 1.14 01:50 DISslit -350(858) 245 54 14.8/15.7 14 9 none 1.15 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 75 38 13 274 (W) 326 Clear none 17:01 73 36 18 271 (W) 283 Clear none 18:01 68 34 8 269 (W) 272 Clear none 19:01 65 34 7 272 (W) 293 Clear none 20:01 61 34 4 304 (NW) 308 Clear none 21:01 62 32 11 7 (N) 324 Clear none 22:01 61 31 12 28 (NNE) 288 Clear none 23:01 61 28 13 26 (NNE) 264 Clear none 00:01 59 29 6 26 (NNE) 263 Pt.
