Institutional codes will be worked out later. The weather started out quite lovely -- dry, clear and apparently photometric, with good seeing. The telescope was opened shortly before sunset for cooling, and seeing was subarcsecond by the time it was dark enough to focus. Seeing remained good for most of first half, but deteriorated somewhat after midnight. The telescope and instruments worked well aside from a few bobbles resolved during checkout and a non-photometric background on the guider which didn't impede guiding capabilities. Second Half Observing Specialist: Noel Camron Hastings Things were running smoothly when I arrived and stayed that way! ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:42 DISslit 150(1138) -39 55 14.8/16.6 357 8 - 0.91" 19:48 NA2gdr 3164(59164) -39 54 14.6/16.3 343 5 Clear 0.79" 22:49 DISslit 75(951) 149 71 14.0/14.7 21 7 - 0.98" 22:56 NA2gdr 2914(58914) 153 71 13.9/14.6 14 7 R 0.84" --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 63 33 10 278 (W) 174 clear none 18:01 60 31 5 301 (WNW) 187 clear none 19:01 58 32 13 337 (NNW) 202 clear none 20:01 58 30 3 15 (NNE) 227 clear none 21:01 59 30 7 351 (N) 233 clear none 22:01 59 27 8 9 (N) 213 clear none 23:01 57 27 6 16 (NNE) 217 clear none 00:01 56 26 5 5 (N) 253 clear none 01:01 58 25 1 8 (N) 232 clear none 02:01 58 27 4 267 (W) 241 clear none 03:01 58 27 1 193 (SSW) 257 clear none 04:01 57 33 4 182 (S) 233 clear none 05:01 58 33 3 184 (S) 248 clear none 06:01 56 34 5 188 (S) 229 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
