Seeing was moderate (0.9 to 1.5 arcsec, worse for a few high-airmass targets), and the sky was clear during the middle portion of the night. Everything worked well, including our first real observing test of dark subtraction for faint objects with the echelle slitviewer. The only problem was a recurrence of the troublesome SPIcam ramp at the beginning of the night, which wasn't entirely cleared up by the time observations started. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:06 SPIcam 250(1742) -56 74 16.2/17.9 184 13 r' 1.00 21:06 NA2gdr 1034(61034) -56 74 16.2/17.9 184 13 none 1.17 22:03 SPIcam 100(1551) -103 72 16.1/17.0 181 11 r' 0.95 01:04 Echelle 44(440) 93 52 14.7/15.3 176 7 ND2 1.52 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 72 37 16 268 (W) 790 ptly cldy none 18:01 72 33 9 273 (W) 788 ptly cldy none 19:01 70 32 9 234 (SW) 844 ptly cldy none 20:01 63 37 11 182 (S) 895 ptly cldy none 21:01 61 40 11 178 (S) 901 ptly cldy none 22:01 61 39 10 182 (S) 877 mstly clr none 23:01 61 38 9 182 (S) 967 clear none 00:01 60 40 11 181 (S) 961 clear none 01:01 58 39 9 183 (S) 1407 clear none 02:01 58 40 9 188 (S) 1071 mstly clr none 03:01 57 42 9 199 (SSW) 956 mstly clr none 04:01 58 39 10 216 (SW) 841 mstly clr none 05:01 57 39 6 241 (WSW) 1225 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
