Opened the enclosure at 20:10 and handed instrument over to observer at 20:17. Seeing was about 0.88 arc sec in r' at the end of twilight. During the first half of the night the seeing was pretty variable ranging from 1 - 2.5 arc sec, as read from the guider images. Instrument change over occured on schedule and I did a focus (1.9 arc sec) and pointing correction and had the instrument in the observers hands by 01:13. No problems with the echelle tonight. I observed 2237 this morning with seeing around 1.1 arc sec (focus) in r' to 1.5 arc sec (actual images) in r'. Everything ran smoothly all night long. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:44 SPIcam 50(1406) 172 82 15.9/17.5 263 20 r' 0.89 20:50 NA2gdr 2029(62029) 183 82 15.7/17.4 263 18 none 1.25 21:50 SPIcam 0(1278) -117 75 15.3/15.7 262 20 z' 1.13 21:56 NA2gdr -2047(57952) -113 73 14.7/15.4 268 18 none 1.57 00:08 Echelle 14(259) 69 49 13.7/13.6 266 14 none 1.93 04:47 SPIcam -25(1156) 130 49 10.8/11.6 272 12 r' 1.11 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 69 16 22 243 (WSW) 1438 Clear none 18:01 66 15 18 290 (WNW) 1515 Clear none 19:01 65 16 23 304 (NW) 1649 Clear none 20:01 62 17 28 271 (W) 1609 Clear none 21:01 60 17 25 269 (W) 1324 Clear none 22:01 58 18 22 270 (W) 1271 Clear none 23:01 58 20 11 260 (W) 1465 Clear none 00:01 58 20 20 260 (W) 1189 Clear none 01:01 56 20 15 252 (WSW) 1309 Clear none 02:01 55 21 15 248 (WSW) 1167 Clear none 03:01 55 21 15 264 (W) 1157 Clear none 04:01 54 21 8 274 (W) 1288 Clear none 05:01 52 22 9 266 (W) 1218 Clear none 06:01 51 22 10 281 (W) 1277 Clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
