Focused the instrument with seeing around 2.20 in J and improved by midnight to 1.2 arc sec. The observer slewed the telescope to 89 deg altitude before I could stop it. I checked the JDavis machine and saw only a slight oscillation on all 3 sectors when moved to a lower alt. Then took a test image and things looked ok. Then I scolded the observer for doing such a dastardly thing, it seems to be becoming common place for observers to try slewing the telescope above 85 deg altitude (this is the 5th observer I have warned about this in the past few weeks). Clouds moved in at 01:00 and prevented any further observations for the night. A few light sprinkles around 02:00-03:00. ----------------- PROBLEM LOG ---------------- Time Problem/Fix PR# ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 02:35 Users Remark (v2.75) crashed and hung DIS - Rebooted DIS ICC and re-init DIS. 2001149 ---------------- INSTRUMENT LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:45 GrIm-f/5 -30(1284) 117 66 15.3/16.7 173 7 J 2.20 23:58 GrIm-f/5 -30(1233) 12 75 15.4/15.8 123 4 J 1.18 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 18:01 65 38 7 205 (SSW) 778 Clouds none 19:01 61 39 6 183 (S) 1074 Clouds none 20:01 60 37 5 214 (SW) 1164 Clouds none 21:01 60 37 2 321 (NW) 1467 Clouds none 22:01 60 38 2 203 (SSW) 1364 Pt.
