I did a little programming and some experiments with the echelle slitviewer, still trying to narrow down its sensitivity problems. I'm trying to keep track of the weather status in the time logs even though the telescope is closed. There was rain before sunset and threatening clouds for several hours after sunset. A little after 2300, conditions improved enough that we could have opened, though there were still too many clouds coming and going for most useful on-sky work. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 59 37 6 108 (ESE) 1478 cloudy rain 17:01 52 31 10 102 (ESE) 1210 cloudy rain 18:01 50 34 6 178 (S) 1443 cloudy none 19:01 52 31 5 86 (E) 1225 cloudy none 20:01 54 27 6 352 (N) 1790 cloudy none 21:01 50 33 3 354 (N) 2138 cloudy none 22:01 51 32 5 90 (E) 1861 cloudy none 23:01 50 32 11 77 (ENE) 1343 mstly cldy none 00:01 49 34 8 85 (E) 1219 mstly cldy none 01:01 51 32 1 124 (SE) 1333 mstly cldy none 02:01 52 30 0 190 (S) 1485 mstly cldy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
