I opened the louvers and turned on the cooling fans around 18:50 tonight. The enclosure was opened around 19:45 for cooling after a last minute filter change request by the observer. No time was lost and the observer was on the sky taking sky flats by 20:16. Clouds moved in around 22:10 and pretty much shut down observing. The winds picked up to 35-40 MPH at 00:45 and started blowing out of the East. We opened up again at 02:10 and I tried focusing the Echelle. The seeing was so bad that the efocus routine could not even find the star. I manually did the focus and found that the seeing was horrible at 4.0+ arc sec, focus=-100 (That was the best focus I could get manually. The FWHM was some of the worst I have seem). Probably not suprising the poor seeing with the front that moved thru a couple hours ago and brought all the wind, a drastic temperature drop, and we had the telescope pointed over a small disturbance to the S. At 03:20 the humidity skyrocketed from 54% to 89% and forced us to again close. The humidity dropped just before twilight but too late to get anymore useful data. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:15 SPICam -100(1319) 221 69 16.4/18.6 351 13 r' 1.13 21:35 NA2gdr 3482(63482) 208 84 15.4/17.9 28 21 none 1.58 03:50 Echelle -100 188 32 8.6/10.1 68 14 nd1 4.38 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 73 18 11 241 (WSW) 680 Pt.
