Recalibrated both sets of gratings. Installed new version of Remark for testing (2.72) Observing Specialist 2nd Half: Russet McMillan Clouds continued during second half, along with a dust event. A violent storm developed not far east of the observatory, but moved away from us and we never received any rain. Each time I checked, the handheld dust counter gave a measurement nearly twice as high as the tower dust counter. The dust never dropped low enough to allow us to open before twilight, so I did some tests with the echelle slitviewer instead. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 58 10 19 193 (SSW) 2330 cloudy none 17:01 60 10 25 235 (SW) 2054 cloudy none 18:01 57 13 30 212 (SSW) 2081 cloudy none 19:01 54 16 23 204 (SSW) 1691 cloudy none 20:01 52 16 17 207 (SSW) 2000 cloudy none 21:01 53 17 14 184 (S) 1780 cloudy none 22:01 50 10 6 190 (S) 2866 cloudy none 23:01 49 9 6 283 (WNW) 2749 cloudy none 00:01 47 11 1 349 (NNW) 2857 cloudy none 01:01 46 16 5 356 (N) 3098 cloudy none 02:01 42 20 8 291 (WNW) 8201 ptly cldy none 03:01 41 24 14 309 (NW) 5034 ptly cldy none 04:01 40 24 18 287 (WNW) 2912 ptly cldy none 05:01 38 22 9 295 (WNW) 2968 ptly cldy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
