Everything went smoothly with checkout and I let the observers use the instrument at 20:00. The enclosure was opened at 19:40 to help cooling. The seeing was fair at the start of the night at around 1.3 arc sec, and varied between 0.9 and 1.9 thru the night. The observers spent the first half of the night gathering through put measurements with the GFP instrument. The 2nd half was done gathering actual science data. Things seemed to go well for them. Everything ran like clockwork tonight with the 3.5m. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:47 GFP -30(1458) 16 49 15.6/17.1 272 14 4500A 1.27 20:57 NA2gdr 2875(63875) 15 49 15.1/16.8 274 16 none 1.33 01:21 GFP 70(1490) 183 37 13.6/14.0 304 15 6555A 1.46 01:27 NA2gdr 3424(64424) 184 38 13.6/14.0 296 21 none 1.30 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 68 18 17 288 (WNW) 598 Clear none 17:01 67 17 9 253 (WSW) 620 Clear none 18:01 65 14 15 273 (W) 550 Clear none 19:01 64 12 12 262 (W) 480 Clear none 20:01 61 12 5 246 (WSW) 537 Clear none 21:01 59 15 13 275 (W) 718 Clear none 22:01 59 16 10 269 (W) 631 Clear none 23:01 59 18 20 269 (W) 668 Clear none 00:01 58 19 13 287 (WNW) 593 Clear none 01:01 57 19 16 308 (NW) 533 Clear none 02:01 56 20 18 301 (WNW) 541 Clear none 03:01 55 21 21 323 (NW) 508 lt. cirrus none 04:01 54 20 14 337 (NNW) 597 Clear none 05:01 54 16 7 278 (W) 668 Clear none 06:01 55 15 16 355 (N) 681 Clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
