I turned the enclosure fans on at 18:30. I finished my checkout around 20:00 and let the observers do there lamps. We had partly cloudy skies with a thicker cloud looming to the W/NW so I didn't want to open just yet since I wasn't sure which direction it was heading. I opened the enclosure at 20:30 after the clouds looked to be less threatening. A quick focus was done with seeing around 1.4 arc sec and the instrument was turned over to the first half observers. Clouds grew thicker around 22:00 and brought observations to a halt at 22:08. The clouds started to thin again around 23:15. Handed the instrument over to the 2nd half observers at 01:02 (1st half went a couple mins long) and I did a quick focus check/adjustment. Seeing was about 1.2 arc sec starting the 2nd half. The 2nd half observers finished a couple mins ahead of schedule tonight. We had clear skies all 2nd half with 0.8 - 1.5 arc sec seeing (degrading a little towards the morning). They used the cals and biases from the 1st half, so they didn't have to take any in the morning. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:37 DISslit -140(1033) 237 42 10.8/13.7 272 11 none 1.40 20:47 NA2gdr -2380(54669) 239 40 10.8/13.1 275 10 red 1.34 01:05 DISslit 70(1065) 213 59 10.9/10.9 316 9 none 1.29 01:11 NA2gdr 1962(59012) 216 58 10.7/10.9 336 10 red 1.14 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 60 36 16 268 (W) 873 ? ? 17:01 59 33 8 269 (W) 867 ? ? 18:01 56 33 14 276 (W) 857 Cloudy Sprinkles 19:01 55 36 12 259 (W) 1120 Pt.
