I then opened again at 20:15 MDT. After heroic efforts today, GrIm appears to be working again so we ran with it. Don York brought a group of new faculty to train on the telescope tonight so much time was spent with the initial tours. Grim ran smoothly all night for the Princeton team. We switched to the Echelle at 01:00 MDT and used a new Remark (2.71c) to test out the auto guiding features that Bob Lowenstein was working on. We also took time to train the many trainees. All Echelle observations ran smoothly all night. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:31 GrIm f/10 -30(1258) -10 81 15.3/16.7 244 20 J 0.62" 00:08 GrIm f/10 +20(1248) -143 51 13.5/13.5 271 12 K-Short 0.51" 01:07 Echelle 55(399) 163 26 13.2/13.2 268 12 ND-2 1.43" ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 69 13 14 230 (SW) 1695 clear none 17:01 70 12 16 241 (WSW) 1642 clear none 18:01 68 11 16 254 (WSW) 1627 clear none 19:01 63 11 13 237 (WSW) 1524 clear none 20:01 57 11 14 266 (W) 1470 clear none 21:01 57 11 15 242 (WSW) 1531 clear none 22:01 57 10 12 247 (WSW) 1310 clear none 23:01 57 9 13 254 (WSW) 1306 clear none 00:01 56 11 11 251 (WSW) 1410 clear none 01:01 55 13 11 270 (W) 1471 clear none 02:01 55 14 10 275 (W) 1387 clear none 03:01 55 14 12 270 (W) 1391 clear none 04:01 54 14 16 284 (WNW) 1432 clear none 05:01 54 14 15 292 (WNW) 1315 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
